One thing I am coming to learn very quickly is that faith is just a word UNTIL WE NEED IT! I don’t need faith to go through my “routine” day to day life. I don’t need that much faith to do the things a 40 year old man does. This coming from a pastor? Look – don’t get me wrong, faith is vital and important to our lives, but as long as we are in control, there is no need for faith. Faith in Jesus, that is. We tend to place the faith in ourselves.
Hebrews 11:1 says “faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen!”
Faith is seeing hope when our eyes don’t.
James said “Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.
I pray that my faith will grow as trials in my life come. I pray that I will see the trials as a molding and making me into something more for Christ. I pray that I can endure the trials.
James says in James 1:12 “A man who endures trials is blessed, because when he passes the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.”
